About Robert Mattaliano
As a strategically informed development writer and project manager, I’ve helped several ambitious campaigns increase engagement and revenues. I also have broad experience in identity, enrollment marketing and media relations at institutional, school/college and departmental levels. I work in digital, print, video, social media and events.
As Director of Development Communications, I produced a range of development communications and managed a team of writers at Drexel University in Philadelphia, supporting annual fund, major, principal and planned giving in a comprehensive $800M campaign advancing 15 schools and colleges, St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, the Academy of Natural Sciences, Environmental Collaboratory and A.J. Drexel Autism Institute.
Other higher education and academic medicine clients have included Columbia University Irving Medical Center, Dickinson College, Syracuse University College of Visual and Performing Arts, Washington State University, Pace University Haub School of Law and others. I’ve also collaborated on campaign cases with strategic agencies including Creative Fundraising Advisors, Foster Avenue (formerly Snavely Associates) and Heller Fundraising Group, and I’ve been a contributing writer on higher ed communications at Volt.
Prior to higher education, I produced and project-managed print and digital content at Time Warner and Newsweek for global brands including Bank of America, Fidelity Investments, Ford, GlaxoSmithKline, Humane Society of the U.S. and Starbucks. I received a B.A. in humanities from the University of Chicago, completed workshop courses in social media at Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and earned an online certificate in digital marketing from the S.C. Johnson Graduate School of Management, Cornell University.
“As a skilled writer and collaborative manager, Robert elevated Drexel’s fundraising and stewardship content across multiple channels and formats, supported the acquisition of significant donor investments and led a range of compelling communications when our campaign successfully concluded. I highly recommend him for any ambitious development effort.”
